The highlighted image is an impression of human skin over a 0.1 mm x 0.1 mm area. The image was taken with a NewView at 50X magnification and was used to support research in the area of aging and moisturising. A topographical map of the skin imprint can reveal detailed wrinkles and furrows. With aging, these peaks and valleys become larger and oriented. This important information can also be used to assess the effects of anti-aging and moisturizer treatment of the skin’s surface.
