The new Quantel Brio Laser
02 Apr 2004
The US/French design team of the Quantel group have developed a new Q-switched Nd:YAG laser aimed at the needs of both scientific and industrial users. Designated the Brio, the new laser was designed to provide performance, reliability and ease of maintenance with ease of use also in mind. With compactness a design goal, the thermally stabilised laser head with "plug-in" harmonic generators and integral wavelength separation mirrors is in a 224 x 80 x 70mm package.
The Brio offers output powers of 120mJ at 1064nm, 65mJ at 532nm and 25mJ at 355nm in a 5 nSec pulse. With a compact power supply and cooling unit, RS232 or USB control and a simple flashlamp change, the laser is ideal for system integration.
Options available include a Multimode or Gaussian resonator, double pulse operation, a motorised attenuator and a 19 inch rack mounted power supply.
