Minimally Invasive Fibre Optic Temperature Monitoring
13 Oct 2004
Lambda Photometrics are introducing a fibre temperature monitoring system for biomedical applications produced by Luxtron Corporation. Using proprietary Fluoroptic technology, the systems are inherently immune from microwave, RF, magnetic resonance and high voltage interference and provide "real-time" non-contact temperature measurement. The 0.5mm diameter smooth profile probe is minimally invasive and can be easily inserted into a catheter or needle. The accuracy of measurement is ±0.2ºC, the measurement range is 0-120ºC and response time is 0.25 seconds, up to four channels may be monitored. An RS-232 serial port is provided for computer monitoring, control and data logging.
