MVTec and Lambda Photometrics Sign UK and Ireland Distribution Deal

MVTec GmbH is now represented in the UK and Ireland by Lambda Photometrics Ltd. MVTec is a leading international supplier of software tools for machine vision. The tools are used in all demanding areas of imaging: semiconductor industry, web inspection, quality control and inspection applications in general, medicine, surveillance etc.

The company offers two ranges of advanced machine vision software: HALCON, a comprehensive software library and ActivVisionTools, an easy to use application creator based around the advanced HALCON algorithms.

The HALCON product consists of a comprehensive software library with open architecture allowing the rapid development of image analysis and machine vision applications. HALCON includes algorithms with outstanding performance for blob analysis, shape and form recognition, pattern matching, 3-D camera calibration and binocular stereo amongst many others. It is compatible with Linux/UNIX and Windows and the full library can be accessed from all common programming languages. Hardware independence is guaranteed by the provision of interfaces to the most popular frame grabbers as well as DirectShow and IEEE 1394 capture devices.

ActivVisionTools is a quick and efficient application creator with an easy-to-use graphical interface and requires only “beginners’ knowledge” to integrate into systems. The ActivVisionTools range is fast and accurate, fully interactive and requires no programming. The products have extensible and scalable open software architecture with automatic detection of more than forty frame grabbers. Instant processing of images from multiple sources is a feature of the software. The family of twenty ActivVisionTools is based on the HALCON library and covers alignment, inspection, measurement, advanced 3-D calibration, results display and filing, barcode extraction and decoding and much more.
