Phlox release a range of lower cost LED back lights
27 Apr 2006
Phlox have long been known for their highly uniform and intense LED back lights. They have now extended their range with a new lower cost version. These still provide the same uniformity as the high bright series, but are slightly less intense.
Many customers do not require the intensity of the high bright series, and may have been put off by the cost associated with these high performance back lights. These new low cost back lights have been designed for such customers.
The backlights are available in a large range of standard sizes, and custom sizes are readily available.
Most LED backlights are made using an LED matrix which leads to poor uniformity. The Phlox technology is based around the technique of engraving mathematically calculated micro prisms in the PMMA. The LEDs are then precisely positioned to edge-light the material. A combination of these two techniques greatly enhances the light intensity and uniformity.
