Quantel announce improved YG980 Nd:YAG laser specifications
10 January 2007
|
Quantel's R&D team are always working hard to improve their pulsed Q-switched Nd:YAG lasers, and have recently announced improvements to the specifications of their YG980 Nd:YAG laser. |
The YG980 Nd:YAG laser is already well-established and is widely used in scientific and industrial R&D applications including spectroscopy, LIDAR, LIF, PIV and dye laser/OPO pumping. It is available in several different configurations, either oscillator only or oscillator plus one or more amplifiers, depending on the users' energy and repetition rate requirements.
The improved specifications include higher energy outputs for the highest energy system, the YG982E-10 and higher energy and better polarisation ratio for the mid-range YG981E-30 30Hz repetition rate system, summarised below:
YG982E-10 Specification Improvements
| Specification | Improvement |
| Energy at 1064nm | 2500mJ (increased from 2400mJ) |
| Energy at 532nm | 1250mJ (increased from 1200mJ) |
| Energy at 355nm | 850mJ (increased from 550mJ) |
| Energy at 1064nm | 230mJ (increased from 200mJ) |
YG981E-30 Specification Improvements
| Specification | Improvement |
| Energy at 355nm | 330mJ/400 mJ* (increased from 220mJ) |
| Polarisation ratio at 1064nm | ≥90% (increased from 85%) |
