Scorpion Vision Software from Tordivel

Lambda Photometrics is pleased to announce a new distribution agreement with Tordivel for Scorpion vision software within the UK & Ireland

Since 1992, Tordivel AS has been a partner for major Norwegian companies in bringing the emerging Windows technology into both existing and new products. Since 2000 Scorpion Vision Software has been the platform for vision systems and OEM solutions.

Scorpion Vision software provides powerful image processing for 2D and 3D applications without the need for programming skills. Applications are developed in a user friendly Graphical user interface which can be customised to show various amounts of information and controls to the operator such as html based instruction screens and visual studio style controls using com add-ins. A number of different image analysis tools are available with user selectable outputs. This allows for rapid development from the simplest to the most complex image analysis tasks.

The user interface also has built-in statistics and logging capabilities making it ideal for process control and integrating with manufacturing database systems.

Support for many popular machine vision cameras

Scorpion Vision software has direct support for Prosilica GigE and AVT firewire cameras and also supports any DCAM compliant camera or direct show image capture device. Other manufacturers such as Sony, Basler and Unibrain are also supported.

Want more Power or Control?

Scorpion Vision software has an interface to Python scripting which is an open source language. You can use Python scripts to control the image analysis task, modify or control the tools in Scorpion Vision software or create your own plug-ins, image analysis library and data manipulation functions. The possibilities are endless!

Pioneering in 3D vision

3D vision is available as an option to all versions of Scorpion vision software and contains a growing number of 3D specific tools. Methods include: Laser Profile Triangulation, Stereo vision, laser grid/point cloud. Scorpion Vision software leads the way with its simple, two step process for 3D camera calibration and 3D visualisation. 3D image data sets are also supported and Scorpion Vision software can easily extract a 2D plane from a 3D surface. Using 3D coordinates could not be easier - Scorpion Vision software can be calibrated to work directly in your real world coordinate space without the need for further conversion. In addition, the 3D reference can be.

OEM capabilities

The power and technology behind Scorpion Vision software can also be incorporated into your own systems using the Scorpion VisionX library. This allows you to use the image processing tools without requiring the Graphical user interface. However, in keeping with the rapid development ethos of Scorpion Vision software you can still use the graphical user interface for development and debugging and then export your imaging task into your own application.
