Imaging and Power/Energy measurement of Mid-Infrared Lasers

As the UK representatives for Electrophysics Scientific Imaging and Gentec Electro-Optics we are pleased to introduce a range of products we can offer suitable for use in conjunction with mid-Infrared lasers such as Quantum Cascade Lasers.

Electrophysics Infrared camera:

The PV320L Infrared uncooled camera is an ideal tool for profiling Lasers emitting in the 2-14µm range. It incorporates a High resolution (320x240) uncooled focal plane array and advanced features including a USB2.0 high speed digital output and internal Automatic Image Calibration (AIC). You can operate the PV320L as a stand-alone video-based system with on camera controls, or interface the camera with Velocity Advanced, a powerful real-time image acquisition and analysis software application enabling the user to display real time images control the camera remotely via a PC. With a rugged, all metal alloy chassis, the PV320L is currently in operation in many demanding applications and has an interchangeable lens mount.

  • Great image quality with fine spatial detail;
  • Continuous normalization reduces the requirement for non-uniformity correction;
  • Enables the user to visualize minute temperature variations;
  • Collect and analyse images easily;
  • Optimise the camera system for many different applications.

Gentec Electro-Optics Laser Power/Energy meters:

We can also offer the following Gentec detectors which would be suitable for measuring the Average Power / Pulse energy of Lasers emitting in the 2-20µm range.

XLP12-3S-H2 eXtreme Low Power thermopile

  • Has a Noise Equivalent Power of +/- 0.5µW and a low thermal drift with isolation tube so will be well suited for measuring 10’s µW up to 100’s mW of Average Power in the IR
  • A calibration uncertainty of +/- 2.5%, which is extremely accurate and a 12mm aperture
  • Can be used with the full portfolio of Gentec monitors
XLP12-3S-H2

QE-MT Quanta series energy detector with metallic coating

  • Suitable for measuring energies as low as 8µJ (10 x noise level of QE12 detector)
  • When used with the S-LINK-2 dual channel PC based monitor you can log all pulses at up to 6kHz [QE12/25] with a very fast transfer rate to PC of 10kHz/channel
  • The detector has a calibration uncertainty of +/-3% and a 12/25/50 mm aperture
  • Can be used with the S-LINK-2 and SOLO-2 monitors
QE-MT Quanta series energy detectors

S-LINK-2 dual-channel PC-based monitor

  • Will enable independent control of two power/energy detectors simultaneously via the supplied software
  • Each detector is controlled via a separate window in the software
  • There are two versions of this PC-based monitor; the Ethernet version comes with USB connectivity as well, the USB version with USB connectivity only
