10GHz & 40GHz Picosecond Fibre Lasers

Calmar Laser’s actively mode-locked picosecond fiber lasers produce 1 to 10 ps pulse width signals at repetition rates of 5 to 11 GHz, and 38-42GHz. High stability and ease of use are key features of these designs, which provide short warm-up and setup times as well as excellent long term stability, low amplitude noise and low timing jitter.

When used together with bit rate multipliers (BRM’s) and pulse compressors from Calmar’s product range, these sources allow advanced component and system development up to 320 Gb/s.

Fixed or tuneable wavelength ranges and fixed or tuneable pulse widths, together with optional internal RF sources fully automatic mode locking via computer control, and enhanced repetition rates; all contribute to Calmar’s flexible approach in providing the best solutions to meet specific customer requirements and budgets.

The pulsewidth tuning option provides adjustment via a front panel knob (no need to open the box and exchange “cartridges”) and is continuously variable over the tuning range.
