Fibre Optic
Schott design and manufacture a wide range of high quality fibre optic light sources and attachments, for uses in Microscopy, Machine Vision, and Industrial applications. Below are details of the COLDVision Series.
DCR III Plus and DCR IV Light Sources
The next generation of the DCR range, DC-regulated, 150Watt halogen light sources from SCHOTT. Designed and engineered for Machine Vision applications requiring "cold", uniform illumination.

DCR® IV Light Source

|
Equalizer™
The DCR® IV equalizer light feedback provides stabilized light output for the most demanding machine vision inspection applications. The light feedback feature provides stable lamp output over the life of the lamp and minimized lamp-to-lamp variation. The DCR® IV can be operated using either a reference Modulamp® and off-the-shelf fiber optics, or with a reference bundle. Light feedback stability for these configurations is as follows: Please click here for more information |

ACE ® Light Source
|
A lower cost AC-regulated, 150-watt halogen light source. Designed for microscopy, visual inspection applications, and less demanding machine vision applications where small intensity fluctuations caused by line voltage variation are not critical. Provides intense, "cool" light at the point of delivery via Schott's fibre optic lightguides. |
MHR-50 ® Light Source
|
A compact and powerful Metal Halide cold light source for applications that require highly intense, white light. The 50-watt Metal Halide lamp combines longevity (3500 h), excellent focusing efficiency and extremely high uniformity of the light spot. Provides intense, "cool" light at the point of delivery via Schott's fibre optic lightguides. |
Universal Light Source
|
In OEM applications, where DC power is already available and the need for an economical light source exists, the Universal Light Source is the first choice. The compact and lightweight design makes it excellent for use in mobile applications or on robotic arms. |
| |
POLYTEC manufacture a unique range of rugged industrial stroboscopes. The BVS and BVS-II Wotan stroboscopes are specially designed for high-speed industrial vision applications where short duration, high intensity light pulses are necessary to "stop" the motion. |

Schott produce a range of light source attachments, which are compatible with all the above sources. They are very flexible in their delivery of the light and have low cost colour filter attachments. |
|
Ringlights
Ringlights provide high intensity, uniform, and shadow-free illumination in a compact ring configuration. Standard sizes range from 32mm i/d to 192mm i/d.Dark-field ring illuminators for use when surface defects, scratches etc need to be observed are also available. |
|
Bundles
When your application requires versatility in routing and positioning of light, flexible bundles are the answer. Choose from single, dual, or quad configurations in a variety of active input fibre diameters and overall assembly lengths. Lengths available range from 40" to 80". |
|
Goosenecks
When your applications demand obedient, incident illumination within minimal available space, the answer is a gooseneck. We offer basic goosenecks in single and dual models, and combination assemblies of goosenecks and flexible bundles. Lengths available range from 18" to 30". |
|
Backlights
When you need uniform, diffuse illumination for applications such as inspection, imaging, and machine vision, the natural choice a backlights. Standard products range from 2"x2" to 8"x8" active illuminated area. A new range of PANELite backlights offer an extremely slim profile (0.05") to fit the most restrictive space requirements. |
|
Lightlines
Uniform lines of light are critical for machine vision and inspection system applications. A range fibre optic lightlines 1" to 16" with optional lenses and polariser kits provide the uniformity you need. When you require a longer lightline, we offer patented spatially randomised lightlines in 24" and 40" standard sizes and can custom build other sizes up to approximately 100"! |
