40GHz Picosecond Pulse LaserCalmar Laser has extended its family of ultrafast lasers with the addition of two 40GHz fibre lasers. These have repetition rates as high as 160GHz and even 640GHz if used with Calmar's bit rate multiplier. Calmar's fibre lasers have extremely low jitter and low noise. Systems come with sophisticated software which makes configuration and operation quick and easy. |

PSL - Picosecond High Speed Fibre Laser SeriesThis actively mode-locked fibre laser instrument produces 1 to 10 ps pulse width signals at repetition rates of 2.5 to 40 GHz and features easy to use operation, short warm-up and setup times as well as long term stability. Low amplitude noise and timing jitter, high energy output and widely tunable wavelengths in the 1550 nm region. An optional computer control greatly simplifies laser operation and maintenance. This product is well suited for advanced component and system development up to 320 Gb/s. |
BRM - Bit Rate MultiplierThis instrument is designed to multiply input bit rates by a factor of 2,4,8,16,32 to appropriately address 20 GHz, 40 GHz, 80 GHz, 160 GHz and 320 GHz transmission requirements. Each multiplication stage is set with a pattern delay. The instrument can transform input PRBS data at 10 Gb/s to PRBS data at higher bit rates. It is a low cost and versatile solution for high-speed communications research and development. |
PCS - Pulse Compressor SeriesThis instrument incorporates a uniquely designed EDFA and dispersion controlled fibre to compress short pulses into the femtosecond region and to generate broadband super continuum. The unit, along with the PSL model, produces signals with pulse widths between 100 and 700 fs, low pedestal, and high output power, ideal for applications in optical communications, optical switching, optical computing and optoelectronics. |
PCF - Pulse Compressor FibreThis product is a low cost version of the PCS Series featuring a specially designed dispersion controlled fibre in a practical module package. When used along with the PSL and EDFA models, it produces 100 to 700 fs pulse width signals with low pedestal. |
FPL - Femtosecond Pulsed Fibre Laser SeriesThis passively mode-locked fibre laser delivers a transform-limited output of high quality pulses in the femtosecond region, featuring high average and peak output power, repetition rates of 10 to 100 MHz, optional polarization-maintaining output, and widely tunable wavelengths in the 1550 nm range. It is the ideal solution for applications in high-speed optical transmission, high-speed optical sampling, all optical switching, optical CDMA and high-speed component testing. |
EDFA SeriesThe family of very low noise amplifier instruments includes dispersion compensated output and polarization-maintaining output models to appropriately address the needs of high-speed transmission and optical switching research and development. All models feature uniquely designed dual knob pump controls to provide the user maximum flexibility to optimize saturation power, noise and gain flatness levels. Units with saturated output power of 15 to 23 dBm are available. |
Second Harmonic GeneratorThis product is designed to convert a 1550 nm input signal to its second harmonic at 755 nm. The design utilises a periodically poled LiNbO3 crystal for high conversion efficiency and is ideal for datacom and telecom testing applications. |
