Zygo FlashPhase Update

New FlashPhase Software Acquisition System from Zygo |
Zygo's new FlashPhase software has potential benefits to new users and "old hands" alike. The software is based on established fringe carrier techniques and has the benefit of requiring only one frame of fringe data to produce a measurement. Correlation between FlashPhase and standard Phase Shifting Interferometry is very good with FlashPhase measuring to an uncertainty of less than lambda/30 compared to less than lambda/100 for phase.
What can FlashPhase do for you?
Vibration and Turbulence. Sometimes you have to measure awkward systems like telescopes which have very long cavities and can't fit on a standard vibration isolation table or in a noisy production environment. Standard phase finds these situations very difficult to deal with for a number of reasons. FlashPhase on the other hand only requires one frame of data and hence freezes the vibration and so a measurement can be made.
Visual only Systems with no Phase capability. You may be the proud owner of a Zygo PTI or one of the Mark series or even the newer GPI-LC and -ST systems which have given you many years of service. All of these interferometer systems can now be upgraded to FlashPhase at reasonable cost. In some cases a new camera may be needed. However, the major benefit of having FlashPhase on these systems is that now you can provide your customers with quantitative measurements for little capital outlay.
Large Aperture Systems e.g. 12" and 18" apertures. FlashPhase now provides a cost effective route for quantitative measurements on these systems at a fraction of the cost of the Phase version. This is because the expensive large aperture Phase Shifters and drive electronics are no longer required.
