Optocon
Optocon manufacture and supply a range of Fibre Optic Sensing Equipment, including in particular Fibre Optic Temperature Sensors. The Fibre Optic Temperature Sensors are based on the light absorption/transmission properties of Gallium Arsenide (GaAs).
Fibre optic temperature sensing provides the opportunity and means to measure temperatures in environments where conventional temperature measuring probes cannot be used. Due to their insensitivity to electromagnetic interference they can measure temperatures in large transformers, microwave environments, MRI scanners and indeed anywhere where there are strong electric fields. In these areas conventional temperature probes cannot be used.
Optocon offer a range of instruments suitable for laboratory use as well as industrial applications. Optocon offer a range of instruments for single channel and multichannel measurements, with various fibre lengths from 1 metre up to 10’s of metres. Temperatures in the range from -200C to +300C can easily be measured with the GaAs sensors from Optocon.
