The leading supplier of cutting edge technology

PHOENIX Tunable Lasers

Luna Technologies’ PHOENIX™ Tunable Laser products incorporate their miniaturized, MEMS based tunable external cavity laser, driven by a circuit designed for low noise and highly linear swept performance (based upon the former Iolon “Apollo” concept). Application software gives the user simple but effective control of the laser, which is available with three different levels of integration; a fully integrated bench-top system, an OEM module, and the basic butterfly packaged laser “engine” without drivers.

PHOENIX™ Tunable Lasers are ideally suited to a variety of fiber optic test, measurement and sensing applications:

  • DWDM component spectrum analysis
  • As a source in OFDR systems
  • Heterodyne measurements
  • Fibre Bragg grating distributed sensing
  • NIR spectroscopy

PHOENIX 1000 Tunable Laser Source

The PHOENIX™ 1000 is a swept tunable laser with an optical fiber coupled output. The laser is a miniaturized, MEMS based tunable external cavity laser offering high performance in a compact footprint, and is the “engine” of the complete range of PHOENIX products. This PHOENIX™ 1000 was designed with systems integration in mind and is well-suited to a range of fiber optic test and measurement and sensing instrumentation, spectroscopy, metrology, tomography and fiber sensing. Built upon the former Iolon Apollo tunable laser technology, the PHOENIX™ 1000 boasts a narrow linewidth, fast tuning and full C-band tunability. The small form factor layout is compatible with high-volume manufacturing and is housed in a compact 18-pin TEC cooled package that provides improved scalability, ruggedness and speed compared to similar tunable lasers. It is being offered as an OEM solution to customers requiring multiple units.
