LUNA MDL-003 Miniature Motorized Variable Optical Delay Line
The LUNA MDL-003 is a small motorized delay line for OEM applications. It uses a stepper motor and dual position sensors for precise delay control.

The LUNA MDL-003 is a fibre coupled delay line with the delay adjustment path in free space. It is designed for OEM applications that require continuous scanning capability and a small footprint. The standard device has a delay range of 100 ps. An internal mirror can also be installed to cause light to double pass the device, doubling the delay range. It uses a stepper motor and two position sensors for delay control. The single-pass version is available with SM or PM pigtails.
The MDL-003 is useful for short range optical path adjustments and scanning. Applications include optical coherence tomography (OCT) and other interferometric systems and network optical length control and timing alignment. An MDL can be used in conjunction with a fiber stretcher or phase shifter for coarse and fine delay adjustments.
