Coaxial light is generated by a diffuse backlight and is reflected by a 50% permeable mirror on the target object. This presents the light so that the axis exactly matches the optical axis of the camera. Guaranteeing a shadow-free image and removing reflections. The distance between the object and the light must be kept to a minimum, with the object should be ~10% smaller than the dimension of the illuminated area.
Coaxial lighting is available in dimensions that allow an active light area from 25x25 mm up to 145x145 mm. The standard colours are red, white, blue, green, IR and UV. Other colours are available on request including RGB (Red, Green, Blue) coaxial lighting unit, which is tuneable over the entire colour spectrum as well as providing white light when all colours are equally balanced.
