An important feature of line lights is the homogeneous light distribution, which can be even further increased by using diffusers. Light lines can be used as a dark field light to create low angle light. The majority of lights are available in red, white, green, blue, IR and UV.
Line lighting itself is also applicable for the illumination of surfaces; two lines in parallel or four lines in a square formation as seen in the images presented here.
The standard lengths range from 50 mm to 446 mm, aluminium frames can be adjusted for a width of 40–101 mm) and the angle of the frame can be adapted to suit your application requirements. Rectangular frames are available on request.
Fresnel line lights are specifically used in industrial applications to work with linescan cameras. They are also used in stage lighting as they cover greater distances. These lighting modules range from 58–788 mm in length and are able to produce a very thin light beam with a width of 4 mm. The light beam centre is more intense/bright and will appear to have softer edges. Projecting a soft shadow, several lights can be used to give a smooth coverage over a given area. The standard working distance is 40mm. Custom lengths are available on request.
