Q: What protocol does the Baumer TXD use for data transfer?
The TXD series uses the standardized DCAM protocol (IIDC V1.31) for data transfer, which enables simple connection of the cameras either using the Baumer-GAPI generic program interface or other image processing software which supports this standard.

Q: Are the Baumer TXD’s backward compatible?
Backwards compatibility means that the older IEEE 1394a standard is also supported.

Q: Are the Baumer TXD’s available in colour?
No. Baumer withdrew the colour cameras in 2013. For colour FireWire cameras within the Baumer range please see the TXF series.

Q: What is the difference between the Baumer TXD and TXF ranges?
The TXD series uses the standardized DCAM protocol (IIDC V1.31) for data transfer, that enables simple connection of the cameras either using the Baumer GAPI generic program interface or other image processing software which supports this standard.

Developed later are the TXF series with optimized FireWire™ cameras especially for use in industrial systems. The cameras with the Baumer FCAM driver apply a secure protocol, asynchronous data transfer and so, as well as providing a higher level of system security, benefit from maximum exploitation of the bus bandwidth of up to 80 MBytes/sec.

Q: Do you have CAD drawings available for the cameras you stock?
Yes, we have CAD drawings for all our cameras. Please use the ‘Get in Touch’ to request the information you require quoting the manufacturer and model of the camera.
