YIC Technologies EMS8000® High Speed 8GHz High Resolution EMC & EMI Diagnostic Tool on your Lab Bench
The EMScanner® from Y.I.C. Technologies consists of a patented scanner fitted a compact controller, and a PC running EMViewer software.
The EMScanner® Model has improved resolution fown to 0.06mm and suitable for high density PCB’s and chips. An ideal tool for EMI Pre-compliance checking to visually identify EMI/EMC issues and solve these quickly using the software tools to locate the faults. The EMScanner® can be used with most leading brands of Spectrum Analysers, like Rigol Technologies, Keysight, Rohde & Schwarz and Tektronix (please call to check).
The patented scanner consists of an array of 1,218 H-field (magnetic) probes spaced every 7.5 mm which provides an effective 3.75 mm resolution. The EMScanner® model goes into far more detail by precisely offsetting both the X-Y axis in 0.12mm steps to further increase the resolution The system operates from 150 kHz to 4 GHz and from 150 kHz to 8 GHz with upgradable and optional software license key. The EMViewer application must also be installed on the customer-supplied PC.
EMScanner® enables the PCB and design engineers to diagnose EMC/EMI problems between 150 kHz and 8 GHz. EMScanner® provides 8 levels of resolution (60 microns – 7.5 mm). Level 1 resolution (7.5 mm) allows the engineers to visualise the hot spots, current loops or intermittent problems in real-time. After locating the unintended radiators, engineers can zoom into the problem by selecting the resolution level based on the density of the board design.
EMScanner® provides unique pre- and post-EMC compliance testing that images emissions. During any new PCB development process, design engineers must find, characterise, and address unintended radiators or RF leakage to pass compliance testing. EMScanner® allows board designers to pre-test and resolve EMC and EMI problems early on, thus avoiding unexpected EMC compliance test results. EMScanner® quickly delivers repeatable and reliable results that pinpoint the cause of a design failure. As a result, the user can personally test the design without having to rely on another department, test engineer, or time-consuming off-site testing. After diagnosing even an intermittent problem, the engineer can implement a design change and retest. The results provide concrete verification of the effectiveness (or not) of the design change.
